Blog Post: Group sessions can be more beneficial than you realize…

You may notice that some of our classes are split by skill level and have two options to choose from! For example Beginner/Intermediate OR Intermediate/Advanced! I have found that there are always some girls who are ‘right in the middle’ so here is our solution!

Everyone learns differently, and you know your daughter best and which environment she will be most comfortable and will learn best in!

Will she be more confident being the ‘bigger fish’ in the class? Or would she be better motivated by playing with the older girls? 
 
I usually have the same lesson plan for both classes. The only difference is the pace of the class and how detailed our teaching will be! Our advanced classes are more fast-paced and we will assume the girls will know how to do certain skills, whereas in the beginner classes, we will be more relaxed and have more of a fun teaching environment! If this is your daughter’s first opportunity for professional instruction I would definitely recommend beginner! Especially for her first time with us, taking it slow and really learning the foundational mechanics will always benefit her more in the long run!

Beginner & Intermediate Hitting Classes

Hhitting mechanics for beginner and intermediate softball players that focuses on proper mechanics, pitch selection, and approach. Girls will be grouped based on age and skill level! For players ages 7-13! Different topics and skills each week. These classes can be signed up individually!

Softball Agility, Baserunning, Sliding and Diving - All Ages

Softball Agility & Baserunning mechanics, footwork, and strategy. Perfect for girls of all ages. We will stress form and smart baserunning. Our session will also include regular, hook, and popup slides as well as divebacks. We will break girls up into groups based on age. Different topics and skills each week. These classes can be signed up individually! This clinic will be held at Sports Performance Park.

Bunting & Slapping - All Ages

Bunting and slapping mechanics for all players looking to up their game. Different drills and topics for each class! This is also a great class for righties as we teach sacrifice bunts, bunt for a base hit, and fake bunts! We will place girls into groups based on age and experience! This clinic will be held at Sports Performance Park.

Fielding & Footwork

A fast and fun two-hour session of Fielding and Footwork for beginner and intermediate softball players. We will be focusing on proper throwing mechanics, footwork, the mental game, strategy, and agility. We will cover different drills and topics each week! For players ages 7-13! Girls will be placed into groups based on age and skill level. This clinic will be held at Sports Performance Park.

Tryout Prep Classes

A split between fielding and hitting the week of tryouts for ALL PLAYERS. A nice, easy, relaxed session to get some last-minute reps and confidence before tryouts. This session will focus on prepping for tryouts with tips and tricks for tryout day! Girls will be broken up into groups based on age and skill level. We will have both the 11in & 12in ball to use. This clinic will be held @ Sports Performance Park. For Players Ages 7-14.

OUTDOOR CLASS OPTIONS

AWS will be at Roy-Hart, Lockport, Lou Gehrig, Tonawanda, and Oakfield Alabama this year! These camps will be open to EVERYONE to sign up and will be the best bang for your buck! Thank you all for your support, we wouldn’t be able to do all of this fun stuff without your continued support!

PRIVATE TEAM CLINICS

A fun, 3-5 hour private team or organizational clinic fully customizable to your team's needs. Clinics are also a great way to expose your players to new techniques and top notch instruction. All while having some fun of course!

Elite Hitting

TWO - 3 Hour Sessions for new or existing clients in second year 12u or above (6 hours total). This class is designed to cover the first 6 hours of my private lesson hitting instruction. This is a 2+ month course consolidated into 2 weeks. Must commit to both classes in the series. The first class will go over expectations, correct form, and our common terminology. The second class will build on the first and cover both mechanics and approach to offspeed and spinning pitches. Max of 8 players with 3 instructors to ensure maximum feedback and results.

Upcoming Elite Hitting
Series #1 June 30th & 7th
Series #2 July 6th & 13th
*Will not be offered again until December 2023* Players who complete this class will then be able to sign up for Amanda's Private Lesson Hitting Groups which are weekly maintenance group sessions offered 2-3 times a week AND private lessons when available!

All Things Beginner Pitching

A 90-minute class that is designed to teach all aspiring pitchers the basics! We will cover the correct warm-up, basic form, and teach how to self-correct! This is the perfect class for players who want to be a pitcher, but are not sure where to start. AND a GREAT class for parents who want to learn too! A catcher is required for this class (parent, teammate, or sibling). Max 4 players.

Players who complete this class can then start attending Amanda's Private Lesson Pitching Groups which are maintenance sessions offered 2-3 times a week AND private lessons when available!

Amanda's Maintenance Classes

Take either All Things Beginner Pitching OR Elite Hitting to be eligible for our maintenance classes AND private lessons with Amanda! More information HERE!

Amanda's Private Lesson Hitting Groups

60 Minutes of Hitting for Amanda's Private Lesson Girls Ages 12+ ONLY.
This is a maintenance class of 2-5 Players Max.

60 Minutes of Pitching for Amanda’s Private Lesson Girls. This is a maintenance class of 2-4 players which is offered 2-3 times a week! A catcher is required for this class (parent, teammate, or sibling).

Kelsey’s specialties are Hitting, Slapping, Bunting, Outfield, & Baserunning! Kelsey graduated from Niagara University in 2022 where she was a 5 year starter as a leadoff batter (triple threat leftie) and starting centerfielder for the Purple Eagles. She was named to the 2018 MAAC All-Rookie team among many other accomplishments.

Lexi’s specialties are Pitching, Infield, Hitting & Bunting. Lexi just finished her freshman year playing ball at RIT where she was their starting pitcher. Lexi also played softball for Amherst Lightning Travel Organization as well as for Williamsville East High School which was NYS ranked #1 in the state in 2021. Lexi’s availability is limited to school breaks, summer, and some weekends as she is a current college softball player and student at RIT!
