HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN COACHING WITH AWS?
Over 5 years

FAVORITE AWS MEMORY
One of my fondest memories looking back was the Lewiston Clinic last summer. We had such an amazing turnout for that event. It was so special for me since it was a longer clinic which gave me time to really connect with the girls. Through conversations over fruit snacks I got to truly experience how much love these girls had for the game of softball and how these clinics were giving them the confidence and skills they needed to succeed and enjoy the game. It reminded me of why I truly love coaching, no only to see improvement in players, but to also see their confidence and love for the game grow.

FAVORITE SOFTBALL MEMORY
I would have to say that my favorite softball memory was my first game of school ball. I was playing JV as a 7th grader and needless to say I was “SCARED”. Playing on a team with girls that were four years older than me was an intimidating environment. I was always pretty shy, so this was a real step outside my comfort zone. So in my first game, I was subbed into pinch hit in the seventh inning.  We were tied with a runner on third. I got up to bat and I ended up hitting a walk-off line drive to end the game. That one hit really changed my mindset on the team. I felt like I had proven to not only my coach and my team that I deserved to be on that team but also to myself.

FAVORITE TOPIC TO TEACH AND WHY

My favorite topic to teach is definitely pitching. My primary position is pitcher and one of the elements I love most about the game. As a pitcher I know how much control we have over the game and how much our performance can dictate the game. I love teaching the mindset portion of pitching. Knowing when to throw each pitch and why. Being able to pick up on cues given by the hitter and trying to outsmart them. There is truly so much skill that goes into pitching and there is always so much room for growth.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING SOFTBALL

One of my favorite things about coaching is being able to see growth from my players. Not only in mechanics but in their confidence and love for the game. We all started playing softball for fun and as girls get older they can sometimes lose sight of that. My number one goal is to give girls the tools to succeed in the game so they can build confidence in themselves and their abilities so they can fully enjoy the game.

FUNNY/INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT YOU (SOFTBALL RELATED)
My rally cap this season was a light-up neon blue cowboy hat that I wore in the dugout and coaching first base a couple of times. Besides my contributions on the field, I am also best known for the post-game snacks I bake for the team. I am also known as the “team mom” and am always the go-to person for snacks, bandaids, and hair ties.

LEXI’S HOBBIES
In my free time love baking all sorts of things, hiking in the Adirondacks with my dad, and going to concerts with my friends.
